What types of tires do you accept for recycling?

Accepted Answer

We accept all common tire types from commercial accounts: passenger and light truck tires, semi and OTR tires, motorcycle, ATV, SXS, golf cart, and agricultural tires. We also accept bulk volumes from tire retailers, auto dealers, fleet operators, and municipal cleanup events. How do I schedule a tire pickup or drop-off?

Accepted Answer

Existing commercial clients can log in to our client portal to request service or view their account history. New clients can call us at (231) 444-5713 or use the "Schedule a Tire Pickup" button above to get started. We'll assess your volume, set a pickup frequency, and get you on the schedule — usually within a few business days. We currently serve 380+ accounts across Western Michigan from Muskegon to Traverse City.

Are your tire recycling services compliant with Michigan regulations?

Accepted Answer

Yes — and this matters more than most businesses realize. Michigan Part 169 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act makes it illegal to deliver scrap tires to any hauler or site that isn't properly registered with EGLE. If your tires end up at a non-compliant site, your business can be held liable — even if you hired someone else to haul them. Michigan Tire Recyclers is a licensed scrap tire hauler with an active EGLE registration and a five-year clean compliance record. You can verify our status directly on EGLE's registered hauler list at michigan.gov/egle. Every load we haul is documented with a proper scrap tire manifest.
